There are both animalistic and humanoid Gnormats(Which are much like steroid injected zombies). All of different kinds and different looks. They are mutated versions of what we once knew to be our fellow humans, anthros, elephants, tigers, wolves, panthers, bulls, cows, monkeys, mice, even giant under ground worms (Like from Tremors) etc. Sometimes even Weres, but VERY rarely.
Gnormats are capable of reproduction, and the only two things on their minds are reproducing and eating. So guess what? We're all prey to them in both ways. Once attacked by one of these beasts, you'll realize that their is no real intelligence behind their attacks. They are unpredictable and savage, would rip you apart limb from limb without so much as a second thought. And what's worse? They're commonly known to travel in packs.
One of the ways you can tell if a Gnormat is close is through smell. They smell worse than a hundred rotten eggs, a sewage dump and millions of dead bodies combined. This is because they do not have the sense to bathe, nor are they revolted by their own scent. Which is caused by the decaying blood and flesh that had been smeared across them from their previous victims.
The only way to kill a Gnormat is by removing their head and destroying the brain completely, otherwise you will have a headless beast that is still capable of walking around and killing for months later.

Panic spread across the planet, the supernatural revelation viewed more like an on spreading disease. Religious communities rose up against them, claiming them to be unnatural and hell spawn risen to bring about the apocalypse. That their very existence was a blasphemy against god.
While most people feared and were disgusted by them, others were more intrigued.. All ignorant and naive, they were attracted to supernaturals like a moth to a flame. People were being turned more frequently and openly, and even though by choice, this fueled the communities hatred towards these 'beasts' and their ideals that they were here to convert their children for the devil.
Ironically, in the year 2012, the humans came out with a vaccination meant to nullify any supernatural's ability to change a human into their own kind. Unfortunately, because of the rush to get it onto the market to 'save their children', it wasn't properly tested. Vaccines were introduced 90 % of the population, and while it worked in some, roughly 60 percent of those introduced to the chemical/magical cross bred compound had adverse reactions. Rather than keep them from turning into a 'beast', it mutated their genetics and turned them into an all new kind altogether. First it started with abnormal growths on the body, then hallucinations, and then finally, violent irrational behavior and cannibalism.
Typically the humans and supernaturals left behind are immune to any repercussions, but there is that sum of after birth's that are still susceptible if bitten by a Gnormat or saliva is somehow transmitted into the blood stream. So beware, and choose your steps closely.
